On August 6, 2018, 38-year-old Marquis Henderson, an African American male, was fatally shot in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at 6743 Indian Lake Drive. Henderson was seated in a friend's vehicle alongside Lloyd Robinson, a 46-year-old African American male, and another witness. Robinson exited the vehicle, stating he needed to relieve himself, and returned with a revolver.
Standing outside the vehicle, he pointed the firearm at its occupants and repeatedly pulled the trigger, asserting the gun was unloaded. Despite pleas from Henderson and the witness to cease his actions, Robinson continued. After the third or fourth trigger pull, a bullet discharged, striking Henderson in the head. Following the shooting, the witness exited the vehicle, and Robinson drove away with Henderson still inside.
The subsequent investigation led detectives to Robinson, who was apprehended without incident on August 7. Although he declined to provide a formal statement, Robinson indicated a general area where Henderson's body might be located. Utilizing this information, detectives, with assistance from patrol officers, conducted an extensive search and discovered Henderson's body in a ditch in the 16400 block of Blue Ridge Road around 2 a.m. on August 8. The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy and, on August 9, positively identified Henderson through fingerprint analysis.
Lloyd Robinson was subsequently charged with manslaughter by the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office for his role in the death of Marquis Henderson. At the time of the report, Robinson remained in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail.
