Sherman Payton, a 40-year-old Black man, was fatally shot on January 4, 2022, in Houston, Texas. He was walking along Fairgreen Lane when a silver Lexus SUV pulled up beside him and the driver fired multiple shots, striking him fatally. The suspect, described as a light-skinned Black male with facial hair, then fled the scene in the vehicle.
