In March of 2016, the body of 48-year-old Charles Newsome was discovered in an alley behind a house on the 4100 block of Enright in St. Louis. He had sustained gunshot wounds. The discovery was part of a grim scene where another man, 41-year-old Mark Carroll, was also found deceased inside the residence from gunshot wounds.
The house where Carroll's body was located was also identified by police as an active meth lab, adding a dangerous and complex layer to the investigation. Authorities spent a considerable amount of time removing chemicals from the premises. While Carroll was a resident of the Enright address, Newsome was from Chesterfield. At the time of the initial reports, law enforcement was continuing their investigation into the double homicide. There have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects in connection with the deaths of Charles Newsome and Mark Carroll.
