Erriton McDowell, a 38-year-old male of African American ethnicity, was tragically found shot to death on February 14, 2022, in Dallas, TX. The incident occurred in the 5000 block of Wadsworth Drive in the Oak Cliff area. Neighbors reported hearing gunfire the night before, but unfortunately, no one called the police at the time, as hearing gunshots was not unusual in the area.

Upon discovering Erriton, some children walking to school found him on the ground and immediately alerted the authorities. Dallas Police Detective Jake Morgan stated that there was no apparent reason or motive behind the shooting, as Erriton had no known conflicts or issues that could have led to his death. The investigation revealed that a white or light-colored SUV, possibly a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, was seen in the vicinity around the time of the shooting. Security footage showed a man running towards Great Trinity Forest Way and the SUV picking up another man before driving away.

The Dallas Police Department has been actively seeking information from the public to help identify the suspects involved in Erriton's murder. They have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers or Detective Morgan directly. Despite the ongoing investigation, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.

Erriton McDowell's death has left a significant impact on his family and friends, who remember him fondly and continue to seek justice for his untimely passing. The community has been supportive, offering condolences and sharing memories of Erriton. The investigation continues as authorities work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.
