Chyanne Villarreal, a 24-year-old woman from Lubbock, tragically died on February 27, 2022, in Abilene, Texas. She was shot by Sedrick Braxton Jr., 30, of Cleveland, Ohio, at the La Quinta Inn on the 3500 block of West Lake Road. After shooting Villarreal, Braxton turned the gun on himself and was pronounced dead at the scene. Villarreal was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was later taken off life support the following day.
