James Tyrone Ahmadi, a 53-year-old Black man, was fatally shot during the early morning hours of March 19, 2022, at the Ari Motel in Dallas’s Red Bird area. At approximately 2:24 a.m., Dallas police officers were dispatched to the motel at 4154 Preferred Place after receiving a report of gunfire.
