Following Dominic's death, an investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of 18-year-old Alfonso Gonzalez on April 11, 2022. Gonzalez was charged with murder and tampering with evidence. Surveillance footage played a crucial role in identifying Gonzalez as the suspect. According to the footage, Dominic exited a vehicle and attempted to talk to someone before running towards his home, where he was shot.
