Reginald "JJ" Jackson, a 30-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on September 22, 2021, in Houston, Texas. He was one of two men found shot to death at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Cypress Station Drive in north Harris County. The other victim, Isiah McCoy, was 27 years old. The suspect in this double homicide is Rishaud Womack, a 31-year-old male who was out on bond for burglary of a habitation and driving while intoxicated at the time of the
killings.
Womack was identified as the suspect after surveillance video captured him opening fire on both victims. The video showed Womack shooting McCoy multiple times while he was still in his car, and then chasing Jackson down the street before shooting him again. Jackson was found dead on Redleaf Lane, and shortly after, Womack allegedly ran over Jackson with a black Nissan SUV before fleeing the scene.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown, but authorities believe that McCoy and Jackson knew each other, though it is unclear if they knew Womack. Womack has a lengthy criminal history, including prior convictions for possession of marijuana, criminal trespass, evading arrest, burglary of habitation, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of McCoy and Jackson.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office has been actively investigating the case and has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding Womack's whereabouts. Womack is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
