Teodoro "Ted" Martinez, a 37-year-old man from Edinburg, Texas, tragically lost his life on March 25, 2022. According to reports, Martinez was forcibly taken from his home by four masked men who later killed him. His body was discovered in a burning GMC Envoy in rural Edinburg. An autopsy revealed that Martinez died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Following the incident, authorities launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Jorge Arredondo, a 21-year-old man from Edinburg.
Arredondo was charged with capital murder by terroristic threat and remains in custody on a $2 million bond. Investigators determined that Arredondo was involved in the trade of the burning vehicle and communicated with a person involved in the vehicle trade. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case and has arrested three additional suspects: Nallely Ruby Belmares, Josias Hernandez, and Juan Duenes. All three are charged with capital murder and have pleaded not guilty.
