Darren Almendarez, a 51-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically passed away on March 31, 2022, in Houston, TX. Almendarez was an off-duty Harris County Sheriff's Deputy who was fatally shot while trying to stop a theft in progress. He was born on August 15, 1970, and had a distinguished 23-year career with the sheriff's office. Almendarez was known for his dedication to serving the community and his passion for justice.
