Steven Ray Wilson, a 37-year-old man from Kempner, Texas, tragically passed away on April 13, 2022. He was born on June 16, 1984, in Great Falls, Montana, and later moved to Texas in 2001. Steven was known for his love of gaming, extreme sports, and fishing, but most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Matthew Thompson, Isabelle Wilson, and Stormie Wilson, as well as his parents, siblings, and other family members.
Steven's death was the result of a shooting incident at his residence in the Wells Ranch subdivision, just south of Copperas Cove. According to the arrest affidavit, Steven was involved in an escalating argument with his roommate, Ian Drew St. Joseph Valderrama, over household chores and a broken car part. The argument began around 2 p.m. and continued intermittently throughout the day. Around 10 p.m., the situation took a tragic turn when Valderrama, who had been carrying a shotgun, fired at Steven in the dining room of their home.
Valderrama was arrested at the scene and later indicted on one count of murder by the Bell County Grand Jury. He is currently held in the Bell County Jail on a $1 million bond. The investigation revealed that Valderrama had invited Steven to move in just days before the incident, claiming he wanted to help him. However, the escalating arguments and Valderrama's threatening text messages to his mother indicated a growing tension between the two.
The case has drawn significant attention, with the community mourning the loss of Steven Ray Wilson and seeking justice for his untimely death. The legal proceedings continue as authorities work to ensure that justice is served for Steven and his grieving family.
