Anthony Craig Galentine, a 60-year-old African American male from Houston, Texas, tragically passed away on May 6, 2022. He was born on January 11, 1962, to loving parents, Wilfred and Theresa Benjamin Galentine, and was the seventh of eight children. Anthony attended Ethel Coop Elementary, Patrick Henry Middle School, and graduated from Sam Houston High School.
He was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service and was married to Halcyon Sutton on April 16, 2017.
Anthony's death was the result of a fatal shootout at a game room located at 4934 Laura Koppe Road in northeast Houston. According to the preliminary investigation, Anthony and another man, Joshay Craig Baldwin, who was 40 years old, got into an argument at another location before meeting again at the game room. After a verbal exchange, both men pulled out guns and fatally shot each other. Anthony was found unresponsive in the driver's side of a white Mercedes Benz in the parking lot, while Joshay was found on the floor inside the business. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Houston police are continuing their investigation into the incident, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division. The case remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Anthony Craig Galentine is remembered fondly by his family, including his wife Halcyon, daughters Mahoganye and Ashley Sutton, and son Anthony Sutton, as well as his siblings and extended relatives. His life was celebrated with a viewing and funeral service at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
