Summary based on 4 sources
Patrik Saul Maldonado, a 58-year-old Hispanic man from Houston, Texas, was tragically killed on June 25, 2022. Maldonado was walking along the sidewalk in the 7100 block of Woodridge Drive in southeast Houston when he was chased and shot by three young men. The suspects, identified as Carlos Romero-Munoz , Jordan Montalvo , and Danilo Bonilla , were later arrested and charged with capital murder.

The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when Maldonado was targeted by the suspects. Surveillance footage showed a sedan slowing down next to him, and one of the suspects exited the vehicle and chased Maldonado before shooting him multiple times. Maldonado attempted to flee and seek help but collapsed in the front yard of a nearby house, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that Romero-Munoz and Montalvo were allegedly part of the brutal MS-13 gang. Montalvo was also charged with the capital murder of Sandra Elizabeth Montes-DeEscamilla, a 45-year-old woman killed in August 2022. The suspects claimed to have been involved in both crimes.

The Houston Police Department released home surveillance video appealing for public tips, which eventually led to the identification and arrest of the suspects. Romero-Munoz and Bonilla were arrested without incident, while Montalvo was already in jail on an unrelated charge. The case remains under investigation, and the suspects are awaiting trial for their alleged involvement in Maldonado's death.

Maldonado, a widower with three children, was in Houston for work at the time of his death. His family has expressed their grief and gratitude to the authorities for their efforts in bringing the suspects to justice.
