Cuong Huy "Tony" Trinh, a 25-year-old Vietnamese-American male, was tragically shot and killed on April 6, 1997, in Houston, Texas. Officer Trinh was off-duty and working at his family-owned store when an armed suspect attempted to rob the store. The suspect jumped over the counter, took money from the cash register, and demanded Officer Trinh's wallet. Upon seeing Officer Trinh's badge and police identification, the suspect shot him in the head, resulting in his death.
