Levi, who was born on December 29, 2012, in Cleburne, Texas, to parents Camie and Dallas Shaw, was described as a kind and sweet child with a big heart. He had three siblings and was known for his love of riding motorcycles with his mother, playing video games, and his aspirations to become a police officer, firefighter, and serve in the military. Levi attended Emma Robertson Elementary and Brawner Elementary, where he was loved by everyone who met him.
On the day of the incident, Levi was accidentally shot by his father, Dallas Ray Shaw, at their residence on Abbey Park Court in the Acton area of Hood County. The Hood County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers responded to the scene and determined that the shooting was a terrible accident. Levi was taken by emergency helicopter to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, where he later died from his injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Hood County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Rangers, who will present evidence to a grand jury. If Dallas Ray Shaw is charged with manslaughter, he could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
Levi's mother, Camie Rose Shaw, who worked as an EMT with Texas EMS of Granbury, has received support from the community, with a bank account established at First National Bank of Granbury to receive donations for the family. The tragic accident has left the family and community heartbroken, and Levi's presence is deeply missed by all who knew him.
