On April 21, 2025, 42-year-old Black male David Dewayne Walker and his 44-year-old wife, Tiffany Ann Williams, were reported missing from their home on Myrtle Lane in Granbury, Texas. A concerned family member, unable to reach them, discovered their residence in disarray, with the Ring security doorbell removed and their vehicles still parked outside. The presence of large amounts of blood and spent shell casings inside the home led investigators to suspect foul play.
Three days later, on April 24, the bodies of David Dewayne Walker, Tiffany Ann Williams, and 55-year-old white male Robbie Allen Head were found near a creek along FM 167 in northern Hood County. All three victims had sustained gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that the murders occurred on April 20 at the couple's residence.
Investigators arrested 19-year-old white male Barrett Copeland and 27-year-old Black male Trin Lawrence McKnight in connection with the murders. A third individual, 45-year-old white male Dennis Craig Alexander, was initially arrested but later exonerated and released. McKnight's bloody fingerprint was found on the driver's door of the victims' vehicle, linking him to the crime scene. During interrogation, McKnight stated that he, Copeland, and Alexander had planned to rob the victims, with Alexander allegedly holding them at gunpoint while the others searched for drugs and money. McKnight claimed that Alexander shot all three victims before they disposed of the bodies.
Both Copeland and McKnight were charged with capital murder and are being held at the Parker County Jail with bonds set at $1,000,000 each. Copeland faces an additional charge of burglary of a habitation, while McKnight has an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance from Tarrant County.
The investigation into the murders of David Dewayne Walker, Tiffany Ann Williams, and Robbie Allen Head remains ongoing.
