On April 6, 1997, Vidar Lillelid, a 34-year-old man of Norwegian descent, was tragically killed along with his wife Delfina Lillelid , and their daughter Tabitha Lillelid . The family was returning home from a religious convention when they encountered six young people from Pikeville, Kentucky, at a rest stop in Greene County, Tennessee. The group, aged between 14 and 20, had been on a cross-country crime spree and were in need of a better vehicle.
