In the early morning hours of January 30, 2013, the life of 18-year-old DeShawn Dupree King, an African American male from Knoxville, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. Just before 1:00 a.m., officers with the Knoxville Police Department were dispatched to 310 East New Street following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered King deceased in the passenger seat of a green Ford Explorer from a gunshot wound.
