Jorge Garnica, a 20-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, was fatally shot on August 22, 2014, outside his apartment on Edmondson Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. Garnica was on his cellphone talking to a friend when the call abruptly ended, and his friend reported hearing background noises before the call cut off. Garnica's body was found on the steps of his apartment building, and police believe he was shot during a robbery.
