In the summer of 2015, a tragedy unfolded in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that claimed the life of U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Scott Smith, a 26-year-old Caucasian male. On July 16, Smith was at his post at the Naval Operations Support Center when a gunman, later identified as Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, launched an attack.
