In the summer of 2015, the life of 28-year-old Patrick Tyler Burdine was tragically cut short in his Nashville, Tennessee apartment. On the night of Tuesday, July 28th, officers responded to reports of gunfire at his residence located at 4601 Packard Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Burdine inside, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators began piecing together the events of that fatal evening.
A witness reported seeing a shirtless Black man wearing white pants fleeing the area immediately after the shots were fired. This individual was the only person of interest described in the immediate aftermath of the homicide. Despite this lead, the identity of the man and his connection to the shooting remained elusive. The case garnered attention, but as days turned into weeks and then years, no arrests were made.
The investigation into the murder of Patrick Tyler Burdine eventually went cold, leaving his family and friends without answers or a sense of justice. The Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Homicide Unit has since taken over the file, hoping that new information or advancements in technology might one day shed light on what happened. As of now, the case remains unsolved, with no publicly identified suspects or arrests in connection to the violent death of the young man.
