In a tragic turn of events that began with a vehicle theft, 20-year-old Jerome Dodson of Memphis, Tennessee, lost his life on December 14, 2015. An African American male, Dodson sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an encounter that blurred the lines between victim and perpetrator. The incident unfolded after Dodson and an accomplice, Demetrius James, were involved in the theft of a GMC Yukon SUV.
