In the late afternoon of March 20, 2016, a domestic dispute in Gallatin, Tennessee, ended in the tragic death of 29-year-old Daryl Spencer Lauderdale Jr., a Black male known for his friendly demeanor and passion for motorcycles. The quiet neighborhood was disturbed by the sound of gunshots emanating from the home of his father, Daryl Lauderdale Sr. When Gallatin police officers arrived at the Lincoln Avenue residence around 3:53 p.m., they found the younger Lauderdale deceased in the driveway from a gunshot wound to the chest.
