In the early morning hours of October 23, 2025, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet on Drivers Lane in Gallatin, Tennessee. When police arrived around 4 a.m., they discovered two young men who had been shot. Both were transported to local hospitals for their injuries. One of the victims was 19-year-old Kyris Andre Brassell, a male resident of Gallatin. Tragically, Brassell succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The other victim, an 18-year-old, survived the shooting and has since been released from the hospital.
The investigation into the shooting led Gallatin Police to a suspect. Monte'Vious Bost, an 18-year-old, was arrested in connection with the fatal incident. Authorities have charged Bost with second-degree murder for the death of Kyris Brassell and attempted second-degree murder for the injuries sustained by the second victim.
As the legal process begins for Bost, the community mourns the loss of a young life. Kyris Brassell was born in Gallatin on April 12, 2006. His family has announced that a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The investigation into the shooting remains active, and police have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
