In the late summer of 2016, the life of 33-year-old Thomas 'Rocky' Regenold was tragically cut short in his Cordova, Tennessee, home. Known for his charming, funny, and energetic personality, Regenold was a man who brought life to any party and was an enthusiastic fan of the University of Memphis. His friends and family remembered his infectious laugh and kindhearted nature.
On August 25, 2016, Regenold was found deceased in his home, having been shot. A few miles away, his SUV was discovered engulfed in flames. The investigation into his death led authorities to identify two individuals of interest. One was Ricardo Tenorio, who was wanted on multiple warrants and considered a person of interest in Regenold's murder. In September 2016, after a manhunt, Tenorio was located by deputies in the Nutbush area. He attempted to run over a deputy with his vehicle and managed to escape. A tip later led law enforcement to a motel in West Memphis, Arkansas. When police surrounded his room and ordered him to surrender, Tenorio reportedly emerged firing his weapon and was killed in the ensuing shootout with officers.
The investigation took a significant turn in April 2017 when Shelby County detectives charged a woman, Roxalene Pullen, in connection with Regenold's death. Investigators reported that when they located Pullen as a suspect, she expressed a desire to speak with them about the homicide. During questioning, she allegedly admitted to shooting and killing Regenold. Following her confession, Pullen was charged with first-degree murder and theft of property.
