In the early hours of a September morning in Cordova, Tennessee, a dispute at a construction site escalated into a fatal encounter for William L. Scott. The 38-year-old man was working as a supervisor on Appling Road on September 18, 2020, when an argument broke out between him and a construction worker, Marcus D. Williams. The disagreement took a dark turn as Williams reportedly left the scene, only to return a short time later armed with a gun.
