Summary based on 3 sources
In the small town of Toone, Tennessee, the community was shaken by the tragic deaths of 13-year-old Javarrie 'JoJo' Robertson and his 38-year-old father, Joe 'Joe Duke' Robertson. The two were discovered shot to death in their Naylor Road home on the morning of October 21, 2016. The father and son, both male, were victims of a violent intrusion that would lead to a lengthy investigation and multiple arrests.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, alongside the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department, spearheaded the inquiry into the double homicide. Their efforts began to unfold as investigators identified several individuals believed to be responsible for the deaths. Within days of the discovery, authorities announced the first arrests in the case. Cousins Damein K. Hamer and Jeremy Hamer were taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Shortly after, a third individual, Andrian Monique Bullock, was also arrested and faced the same charges.

As the investigation continued into the following year, more suspects were identified. In August 2017, authorities arrested Marquenton Deandra Williams and Erica Angria Beard in connection with the murders. Williams was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, while Beard faced charges of criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery, and accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. The case saw further developments in May 2020, when a sixth person, Nakera LaShawn 'Keith' Hamer, was indicted by the Hardeman County Grand Jury on multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder. At the time of his indictment, he was incarcerated in Georgia on unrelated federal offenses and awaited extradition to Tennessee to face the new charges. The cases against the various suspects are proceeding through the judicial system.
