In the small town of Toone, Tennessee, a tragedy unfolded on October 21, 2016, shattering the community's sense of peace. Joe Dandrea 'Duke' Robertson, a 37-year-old male, and his 13-year-old son, Javarrie 'JoJo' Robertson, were discovered deceased in their home on Naylor Road. The cause of their deaths was determined to be gunshot wounds, turning a quiet autumn day into the scene of a double homicide investigation led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Hardeman County Sheriff's
Department. Joe, born on April 5, 1978, was known as a family-oriented man who enjoyed working on flooring and cars.
The investigation into the father and son's untimely deaths led to a series of arrests over the following months. Authorities first took three individuals into custody: Damein K. Hamer, Jeremy Hamer, and Andrian Monique Bullock. Each was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The investigative web continued to widen, and in August 2017, two more people were apprehended in connection with the murders.
Marquenton Deandra Williams of Lamar, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Shortly after, Erica Angria Beard of Bolivar, Tennessee, was also taken into custody. Beard faced charges of criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery, as well as being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.
