On the late evening of June 17, 2017, a sense of normalcy filled the air at the intersection of 80th and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Inside a convenience store, 26-year-old Craig Barksdale was seen on surveillance footage, appearing to be in good spirits. He was captured chatting and laughing with women in a white car and other passersby, enjoying what seemed to be a typical Saturday night.
