In the early hours of August 20, 2018, a night of socializing at Cody's Saloon & Dance Hall on Heritage Square in Jackson, Tennessee, turned into a scene of violence that would claim the life of 20-year-old Braxton Watkins. An African American male, Watkins was one of five people injured in a shooting that erupted at approximately 2 a.m. inside the establishment.
