Eliezer De La Cruz, a 21-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity from Yonkers, New York, tragically lost his life on September 1, 2018, in Hermitage, Tennessee. De La Cruz was driving on Interstate 40 when he was shot in the head during a car chase involving two vehicles—a BMW SUV and a Chrysler 300 sedan. The incident occurred around 6 p.m., causing significant traffic disruption as the freeway's eastbound lanes were closed for several hours.
