Joy J. Nostrom, a 58-year-old woman from Crossville, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on September 14, 2018. She was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Cumberland County school bus garage. The incident occurred just days after Joy had filed for divorce from her husband, Warren Nostrom, and obtained several orders of protection against him due to threats he had made. Despite these legal precautions, Warren Nostrom shot Joy and another man, Mark Gunter, before turning the gun on himself.
