In the quiet town of Columbia, Tennessee, a deeply disturbing event unfolded on October 15, 2018, revealing a tragedy within a local family. Bo Li Collier, a fourteen-year-old male of Chinese descent, was found deceased in his home on Carters Creek Pike. The young man, who had been adopted from China along with his three sisters, was a victim of a violent act that also claimed the lives of his siblings.
His sisters were Kaileigh Lin, age seventeen, Lia Lin, age fifteen, and Meigan Lin, who was fourteen.
The discovery was made by an adult child who returned home from work to the horrific scene. Upon their arrival just after 6 p.m., authorities were called to the residence. Investigators found that Bo Li and his sisters had all suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head. The home, described by the sheriff as immaculate, had no prior history of police calls, adding to the shock within the community. The children were all homeschooled by their mother.
Further investigation by the Maury County Sheriff's Office revealed the incident to be a murder-suicide. The suspect in the deaths of the four children was identified as their mother, Cynthia Collier. Evidence found at the scene, including two firearms and a brief suicide note, indicated that she had shot her children before taking her own life. At the time of the incident, Cynthia and her husband were reportedly going through a divorce. The father of the children was questioned by authorities as part of the investigation.
