In a tragic series of events that unfolded in Memphis, Tennessee, 43-year-old Marcus Anderson was killed on December 6, 2018. His death was part of a violent episode that also resulted in the deaths of two other individuals, Koehler Ramsey and Brittany Goodman.
The path to this tragic outcome began when Kelvin Dewayne King and an associate, Armand Davis, traveled from Memphis to Nashville.
They were staying at Anderson's apartment where they met his girlfriend, Brittany Goodman, and his friend, Koehler Ramsey. A dispute over a drug deal at Ramsey's apartment escalated, leading to King fatally shooting both Anderson and Ramsey.
Following the initial shootings, King and Davis proceeded to Anderson's apartment, where they also shot and killed Brittany Goodman. The subsequent investigation into the triple homicide led to the arrest of Kelvin Dewayne King.
King was indicted on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of especially aggravated robbery. In 2009, a jury found him guilty on all charges. He received a sentence of life without parole for each of the three murder convictions, in addition to a 35-year sentence for the robbery conviction. The court further ordered that one of the life sentences be served consecutively to the others, resulting in an effective sentence of two consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.
