In the early hours of a December morning in Memphis, Tennessee, a life was tragically cut short, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved the victim. Jeremy Robinson, a 30-year-old African American man, was fatally shot on December 10, 2018, in what began as a simple encounter at a local hotel. The events of that day unfolded at the Garden Inn on American Way, a place that would become the final scene of Robinson's life.

when Robinson crossed paths with another man, Travis Haynes, in the motel lobby. A seemingly minor incident, described by witnesses as Haynes bumping into Robinson at the entrance, quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. In a sudden and brutal turn of events, Haynes produced a pistol and opened fire, shooting Robinson at least nine times. First responders arrived at the scene, but it was too late; Jeremy Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.
