In the summer of 2019, the life of a young man was tragically cut short on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. Calvin Reed Jr., a 21-year-old Black male, found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time on the evening of August 17th. In the 3300 block of National Street, a dispute escalated between two other individuals, and gunfire erupted. Caught in the crossfire of a conflict that was not his own, Reed was struck by the senseless violence.
