In the spring of 2020, a violent encounter in Memphis, Tennessee, claimed the life of 18-year-old Steven Goggans, a White/Caucasian male. On the evening of May 7, 2020, Goggans was inside a vehicle with three other individuals when the car was targeted in a shooting. The gunfire resulted in the deaths of both Goggans and 15-year-old Tyrell Jones. Two other occupants of the vehicle were injured in the attack but survived.
