On a summer evening in Decherd, Tennessee, the life of Gary Thomas Lamb, a 60-year-old White male, was tragically cut short. On July 4, 2020, Lamb, a respected computer engineer, was shot multiple times on West Main Street. Despite the immediate response of local authorities just before 6 p.m., he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The incident left his family and the close-knit community in a state of shock and grief. Lamb was remembered as a kind and compassionate man, a proud father and stepfather who had married the love of his life only months prior in December 2019.
The investigation into the homicide was swiftly taken over by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at the request of the 12th District Attorney General. The following day, on July 5, 2020, authorities identified a suspect, 67-year-old Henry Brown Green, Jr. Green was promptly arrested and taken into custody.
Henry Brown Green, Jr. was charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Gary Lamb. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Franklin County Jail, where he was held without bond.
