On September 6, 2020, Markel Alexander, a 50-year-old man from Memphis, Tennessee, was found shot to death near Gill Avenue and Pillow Street, close to St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., and Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the investigation, two men, 18-year-old Jaylin Wright and 19-year-old Terry Wilkins, were charged with first-degree murder in connection with Alexander's death. According to police reports, Wilkins admitt ...
