On a tragic afternoon in Antioch, Tennessee, the life of 15-year-old Edgar J. 'EJ' Utley, a promising African American freshman and football player at Hillsboro High School, was abruptly cut short. On February 4, 2021, Utley was fatally shot on the front porch of his home on Pointer Court. The events leading to his death began when a 15-year-old female, Trameisha Farris, visited him. After about ten minutes inside his home, they both stepped out onto the front porch.
