On July 20, 2021, 17-year-old Kheion Key was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Memphis, Tennessee. Key was visiting a friend in the 800 block of Ayers Street in North Memphis when four cars drove by and started shooting. Caught in the middle of what appeared to be a gang-related shooting, Key was fatally wounded by one of the 100 bullets fired during the incident.
