Michael Monroe Woods Jr., a 55-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically died on May 27, 2022, in Jasper, Tennessee. He was shot and killed by his son, Micah E. McElmurry, 30, at a rest stop on I-24 eastbound near mile marker 160. Woods Jr. was a Home School Communicator at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri, and was well-regarded for his dedication to students and their families.
