On a late Thursday evening in Minneapolis, the life of 28-year-old Kendel Devon Johnson, an African-American male, was tragically cut short. The events of August 7, 2008, unfolded on the 2000 block of Fremont Avenue N., where gunshots shattered the night's quiet. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a grim tableau: Johnson and a woman were found lying in separate yards, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
