In the autumn of 2022, the life of a 33-year-old mother, Vanity Macklin, was tragically cut short in a brazen act of violence that unfolded in front of her two young sons. On the evening of October 17th, Macklin was driving in Memphis, Tennessee, with her 10 and 12-year-old boys when the unthinkable happened. While at the intersection of Millbranch and Raines, an assailant in another vehicle opened fire, a bullet striking Macklin in the head.
