In the winter of 2022, a life was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Kvon Deshun Ford, a 23-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on December 1, 2022. The incident that led to his untimely death unfolded outside a convenience store located on South Lauderdale Street.
Reports indicate that an altercation occurred between Ford and another individual, identified as Tawon Bradford. In the course of the dispute, both men were said to have initially put their firearms down.
However, the situation escalated tragically when Bradford allegedly retrieved his weapon and shot Ford in the neck. The single gunshot wound proved to be fatal.
Following the shooting, Tawon Bradford was taken into custody by law enforcement. He was initially charged with second-degree murder in connection with Kvon Deshun Ford's death. As the investigation progressed and more evidence came to light, the charges against Bradford were upgraded to the more severe offense of first-degree murder.
Despite the gravity of the charge, Bradford was later released from custody after posting a $75,000 bond. This development has been a source of anguish and frustration for Ford's family, who have publicly voiced their pain and called for justice for their loved one. The legal proceedings against Tawon Bradford are ongoing.
