Three-year-old Drake Dale Adams, a White male, passed away in what was described as an accidental shooting. The incident that led to his death occurred at his family's home on Doe Court. Drake was a child known for his joyful and loving nature, who enjoyed playing with his cars and spending time with his family.
On that Wednesday, emergency services were called to the residence after a report that a child had been shot. Drake was quickly airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the young boy was pronounced dead during surgery. The cause of the fatal injury was determined to be a pellet gun. The community was deeply saddened by the loss of such a young and vibrant member.
In the wake of the tragedy, Drake's father, Anthony Adams, was taken into custody. However, his arrest was on charges that authorities stated were unrelated to the accidental shooting death of his son. The charges against Anthony Adams included being a felon in possession of a firearm, as well as possession of methamphetamine and a Schedule VI substance. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was involved in the investigation alongside the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office.
