Constable Harry Foster "Darby" Bierer, a 42-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was shot and killed on July 9, 1903, in Luxor, Pennsylvania. He was a Pennsylvania State Constable serving in Westmoreland County. Bierer was attempting to arrest a suspect on a warrant for dynamiting a building at the Jamison No. 1 mine when he was shot.
