John David Dryer, a 46-year-old male, was a dedicated police officer with the East Washington Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania. On December 18, 2011, Officer Dryer was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 70 near East Beau Street in East Washington. He and another officer had pulled over a vehicle when the suspect exited his car and opened fire, striking Officer Dryer in the head.
