In the spring of 2014, on May 27th, a hiker traversing the State Game Lands in the rural landscape of Rye Township, Pennsylvania, stumbled upon a grim discovery: a set of skeletal remains. Investigators from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Perry County Coroner's office were summoned to the scene. An examination by a forensic anthropologist determined the remains belonged to a white male, likely between 45 and 70 years old, who had met a violent end from a gunshot wound to the head.
