Gerald Everett Hale, a 46-year-old man from South Manheim Township, PA, was found dead on the lawn of his home on May 30, 2014. His body was discovered amidst a fire that engulfed his residence. An autopsy revealed that Hale died from a gunshot wound to the chest, which pierced his heart. The manner of death was initially undetermined, pending the results of a toxicology test and the completion of an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Major Case Squad.
